| Oct. 8, 2010 The 2010 MLB season is over for the Detroit Tigers. Detroit was eliminated from the AL Playoffs by the Boston Red Sox in a 3 game sweep. Boston's starting pitchers proved to be too much for the Tigers hitters as Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, and John Lackey all came through with fine performances. After being blown out in the first 2 games the Detroit ball club had a chance to win the last game but let a 2-0 lead slip away, falling to Boston 3-2. The wildcard Red Sox will next face either New York or Texas in the AL Championship series. |
