Bobby Avila hit for the cycle and had 4 RBI and Bob Lemon completed the game

without help from the bullpen at Griffith Stadium as the Cleveland Indians

beat the Washington Senators 11 to 4.

Avila provided much of the offense. He tripled in the 2nd inning, doubled in

the 6th inning, lined a base-hit scoring two baserunners in the 7th inning

and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 9th inning.

Offensively, Cleveland was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

The win went to Lemon(5-4) who allowed 4 runs in the game. Bob Kuzava(4-4) was

hit with the loss. He surrendered 7 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings and saw his

ERA increase from 4.62 to 4.94.

'I was in my hotel room the other night, working on my swing and made some

adjustments,' Avila said. 'I'm always working on it. If they are getting you

out certain ways, you've got to make changes.'
