1950 AL Standings- Sept. 1st

September 1, 1950 The AL heads into the final month of the season and the Detroit Tigers are in 1st place. August was a roller coaster month for the Bengals, who at one point found themselves in 3rd place, falling out of the league lead for the first time since the beginning of the season. New York and Cleveland both had some time at the top of the league but Detroit went on a 10-1 streak near the end of August that helped propell them back into 1st. While Boston has fallen back mainly because of the loss of Ted Williams, it looks like there will be a 3-way dogfight to the end of the season between the Tigers, Yankees and Indians.
