1950 AL Standings- Sept. 25th Detroit Clinches the Pennant!


September 25, 1950

The Detroit Tigers clinched the AL Championship today on a day they didn't even play. By losing the 2nd game of a doubleheader against the Washington Senators, the New York Yankees handed the Tigers the AL pennant. There's 7 games left in the season but Detroit will now be able to set their sights on the World Series against the NL Champion Brooklyn Dodgers.
